Perseus - Love in Zanzibar

New Perseus track. "Love in Zanzibar" was leaked to the internets due to a Soundcloud glitch, but this is the finished version. Perseus will head out on a two week European tour in late April, and we're stoked that we'll play with him on Spy Bar on Wednesday, April 25. Don't forget to 'fan' him on Facebook.

Magic Tape 21

It's that time of the month again. The Magician's Magic Tape 21 is here. As usual you follow the speculation about the tracklist in the comments on Soundcloud.

You should also check out the recent remixes of Sébastien Tellier and Sam Sparro. Both excellent ones. And speaking of excellency Stephen is currently in the studio with Peter (aka Yuksek) working on new Peter & The Magician material!

Charlotte Gainsbourg + Moonlight Matters

One of my favourite tunes of the last month is Moonlight Matters' remix of Charlotte Gainsbourg's "Anna". Monsieur Matters take the melancholic but rather fast original and slows it down to a more danceable speed and fuses the great pop with disco. The result makes you think of the early disco music where the songs had to be danceable but at the same time proper songs. And despite currently being sunk deep (literally) in the current garage/deep house trend, I'll always be a sucker for sweet melodies like this.

Goldroom Euro tour

Last week Goldroom embarked on a European tour. We're stoked that one of the stops is here in Stockholm playing with us (on April 14). The Paris show was last Thursday, but all you people in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Thessaloniki, Athens and Sopot should study the tour schedule carefully. And this is roughly what you're in for when you go see him (go to Goldroom's facebook page for the tracklist):

Here are some recent remixes that also will get you in the mood:

Alpine - Hands (Goldroom Remix) by Goldroom

The Follow Me remix of "Angeles" is really nice:

If you're as big a fan of Goldroom as we are you might have heard everything above. But unless you have listened to the Aviva mixtape closely, this funky remix by Le Youth should be new to you. Free download as of 30 minutes ago!

Pat Lok - Remember + Supreme Action League remix

Don't worry guys, we're slowly getting up to speed. A lot of work, a couple of things to organize and some early spring colds means we have are a little backed up. I don't know in what end to start, so why not start with one of our favourite Vancouver producers, Pat Lok, who released a remix of The Supreme Action League last week. It's got a really nice deep feel to it.

Pat is also releasing this chill and summery tropical jam soon on On The Fruit Records. They're kind enough to give it away for free when it hits 5.000 plays, so hit the play button people!

Pyramid's new EP out – and we got the codes for you...

Our French fave Pyramid, released a new EP last week named "Life Above The Stars". As I always tend to write that his stuff is amazingly good, I will do it again by writing that this EP isn't any exception whatsoever. Pyramid is for me, one of the finest producers making this kind of electronic music. The 4-track EP include 4 good tracks and here is a taste of one of them.

Exclusive: Stay Ali - Oh Tom

One of our favourite Swedish acts are Stay Ali. What's cool with them is that they are extremely talented for one thing, but also that they can't, and don't want to, be pinned down to a specific genre. This new track is an example of that. According to Bård, it's a step back towards their origins, which I guess means a step away from the electro of the Ep "Vat:Auhlau", which we wrote about here. The new track is part of an upcoming, but at this point unsigned, Ep that will be "happier" and "more naïve" than the last. I know there are a lot of label people reading us, and you guys should drop a mail to these guys.

For more Stay Ali, read our cool interview with the guys here, and keeping an eye on their Soundcloud and Facebook is probably a good idea. And if you're in Milan in April they're playing on the 20.

The Penelopes + Edwin van Cleef

It was a while since we wrote about Edwin van Cleef. I guess I spend more time trolling him on Twitter than actually blogging about him. I might have to change that. This remix of The Penelopes isn't brand new, but Edwin started giving it away for free today. And waiting till he gives away his music is also a way of trolling right? So mission accomplished.

New one from Beach House

Happy. Joy. Euphoria. Three words that describe my feeling when I saw there was a new Beach House track out. "Myth" is what we've been waiting for since their last album "Teen Dream" from 2010. So now, finally, we can look forward to their new record coming in a near future and it started good with "Myth".

A.N.D.Y.

There has been some confusion over the future of Mustang since the split of the Belgian disco duo. Renaud started his Attar! project which we wrote about a while ago. In the end Andy wound up producing under a new name too, meaning that the Mustang name now only will live in the annals of disco history. The new project is called A.N.D.Y., and the first glimpse of a bright disco future could be heard on the last Magician Magic Tape where his awesome Supermen Lovers remix was included. That beast is scheduled for a March 26 release on La Tebwa/La Fessé (pre-order here), but before that you'll get the chance to pick up his remix of Philosophy of Sound, which will be released on Discotexas on the 16 (more on that soon).

Follow A.N.D.Y. on Facebook and Twitter, and be thankful that one great act now has split into two!

Tracasseur exclusive: Amateur

Here's an exciting new project from Jeroen of Blokgolf, Krause, Sumera and Melomanics. The name is Amateur (that name will set off the spam filters, right?). The début single is called "Virgo Intacto", and the digital release comes with remix support from RipTidE, Ike Ratio and Cosmic Force, while the two originals will also be released on a 7'' vinyl in Dutch record stores (I'll be checking at Rush Hour on Spuistraat next time I'm in Amsterdam).

The RipTidE remix is obviously there to draw some extra attention to the release, and while it's nice (just as the other remixes are), I prefer the two originals and their old-school electro/acid house vibes, and I even think the B-side slightly edges out the title track. It makes me want to dig up my old Adonis and Dopplereffekt vinyls.

"Virgo Intacto" is out March 17 on Little Globe.

Clancy - Bringing You Joy

So, while Jonny has been backed-up at work, I've been having a cold. That's about to pass, mostly due to the joy that this new Clancy song brings.
