The Magician - Magic Tape 23 + 2 remixes for download

This month mixtape from The Magician, now it's No 23 and it's always something that every one is waiting for every month. It always super good and holds a bunch of new tracks that haven't seen the official light yet, but for the first time I'm actually not that thrilled that I use to be. It starts superb with the new Flight Facilities track but then takes a turn into something that to me sounds a bit like lack of both time and good new unofficial tracks to include but then it turns into something good again. Well, even The Magician is excused sometimes...

Magic Tape Twenty-Three by TheMagician

Tracklist (so far):
1. Flight Facilities feat. Grovesnor - With You (Extended Mix)
2. ??? - ???
3. White Shadow - If You Like It (Rick Rude Remix)

5. Jonas Rathsman - ???
6. Mr. Gonzo - Dance On You (Tagteam Terror Remix)
7. Sam Sparro - Happiness (The Magician Remix)
8. Anna Lunoe & Touch Sensitive - Real Talk

This time we also got The Magicians two latest remixes for download in 320 kbps. The latest one is his remix of RAC featuring Penguin Prison, that's a nice threesome to talk about. Really nice track for the beginning of the Swedish summer.

RAC feat. Penguin Prison - Hollywood (The Magician Remix) (320 kbps)

His remix of Sebastien Tellier's "Cochon Ville" is not that new, but it's new that you now can download it for free in 320 kbps. Kind The Magician!

New ATTAR! remix. Say what? I like it!

Wrote about the upcoming Adamski release in the guest mixtape post the other day and here's the first remix from it by ATTAR!. The Adamski EP is released by Jerry Bouthier's new label Continental Records, and if the upcoming releases are as good as this one, he's got a label to count on.

New remix from Milo Riccie

We introduced young Milo Riccie, 16 years old based in Morocco, in the end of April. And we were amazed of his talent and the plays on his SoundCloud rose to new levels after our post and now he's back with a new remix of Aron Scott and I think we should play this one a lot too. Once again he has something sharp in this new track. Keep an eye on this boy aiming high.

Tracasseur Guest Tape #4: JBAG

It's time for our fourth guest mixtape and this time it's from the duo JBAG. One part of the duo is Frenchman Jerry Bouthier and the other half is Andrea Gorgerino, an Italian. They met in London and are also based there.

Jerry Bouthier, we had the pleasure to play with a while ago in Stockholm, we took him out to dinner, served him a classic Stockholm shot named Fireball and then also Arnie traded tote-bags with Jerry. A proper night I would say. Jerry is a part of the famous Kitsuné family and also sound designer for famous fashion brands such as Vivienne Westwood. Just recently he has also launched his digital imprint Continental Records with a compelling roster with acts such as Adamski and Reflex. Next upcoming release will be from Adamski May 28 with remixes from ATTAR!, Mirror People and Blackjoy.

Andrea Gorgerino is the classically trained musician that have turned into a skilled producer. Together they take influences in all kind of music genres and ties it up with a little bit of a pop twist. They released their debut single "X-Ray Sex"in 2011 and have some interesting stuff coming out later this summer on Continental.

We bring Fred Falke to Stockholm and as a bonus hyped Monitor 66

Tomorrow we will bring one of the masters of the French Touch scene to Stockholm, we bring Fred Falke himself. A booking that we are very proud to get to our club Virgin Ears at Debaser Medis. Check out the event here.

When we started Tracasseur back in the beginning of 2009 Fred Falke was one of the hottest names, when he went solo after his collab with Alan Braxe. Falke remixed big names already back then and he kind of became our most blogged act (since 2009 we have made 21 posts including him). He kept coming back with new awesome remixes one after another, that's why we are extra proud to get him here. Now it's time for Stockholm to get their dose of Fred Falke. Here are some Falke classics and some new ones.

Gossip - Heavy Cross (Fred Falke Remix) (320 kbps)

Nero - Reaching Out (Fred Falke Remix) (320 kbps)

The Knocks - Brightside (Fred Falke Remix) (320 kbps)

Robyn - Dancing On My Own (Fred Falke Remix) (192 kbps)
(Removed by request)

The Whitest Boy Alive - Golden Cage (Fred Falke Remix) (160 kbps)

Fred Falke - Aurora (128 kbps)

As mentioned in the headline we are also very happy that we've booked Monitor 66. The hyped Swedish trio that probably got the biggest summer track this year in "Triscuits". I already know now that it, for sure, without any doubt, will be on my Best of list for 2012. I can't be wrong and The Magician can't be either, when he put "Triscuits" as the opening track of "Magic Tape 22". This spring and summer are busy times for Monitor 66 with record releases on Silhouette Music and House Of Disco Records along with several gigs already booked. We welcome them to Virgin Ears!

Tracasseur Disco à Paris (mais oui!)

I really should be packing instead of blogging at half past two in the morning. Packing, you say? Am I going somewhere? Why yes, we're running somewhat of a club in Paris on Friday. As Jonny use to say: I'm not bragging, it's just facts.

So, it's not an ordinary overseas gig for us (still not bragging), we are actually in charge of the club night that ties up the first day of the six-day ÅÄÖ festival promoting Swedish music in Paris and France. The evening starts with a mouth-watering line-up consisting of Lo-Fi-Fnk, Pacific!, Simian Ghost and Korallreven starting at 7:30; a very healthy dose of some great Swedish music that will get you into dancing mood in time for midnight, when we start our Tracasseur Disco.

To this night we have booked Punks Jump Up (since we're polite swedes we even invited Joe even if he's British) and Johan Agebjörn, the man behind Sally Shapiro. We'll play our favourite music that we have (or should have) blogged about, together with our buddies Daniel Odelstad, who runs the now famous/world conquering Lunch Beat parties among other things, and our French liaison officers from Sven Sven (a lovely Swedish-sounding name).

It all goes down at Le Trabendo in the Parc Villette, and even if our disco night is free from midnight, you're going to want to buy tickets to the earlier evening here. You'll find more info in the Facebook event.

Punks Jump obviously has some awesome music out. I'm thinking of their collab with Dave 1 from Chromeo, remixed by Oliver, but they've also made some great remixes recently. And we still really dig that "Get Down" track.

This is turning into quite a massive post, so I'll only throw this 150 bpm version of "Casablanca Nights" in there and promise to write more about Johan Agebjörn next time.

Goldroom - Fifteen

After all this retro house, you probably need this to chelax to (sorry for the bad pun Chela). Great to hear that Goldroom hasn't gotten rid of his dreamwave roots!

Chris Malinchak

From the category long overdue posts (it's unfortunately a pretty big category for us), I'll finally write about Chris Malinchak today. Sometimes we feel like we write about Perseus or other French Express acts in every other post, but us never having written about this guy is evidence that we clearly don't write enough about this magnificent label. Mr Malinchak is arguably, together with Jonas Rathsman, label boss Leon's greatest finds.

Apart from being an immensely talanted producer, Chris is both productive, already having notched up a half-dozen releases on French Express, and versatile, ranging from nu-disco, French and filter house to the deep/garage/acid house of his latest EP "Ironbound". The whole release is oozing Trax Records from mid/late 80's (y'all should check out Phuture's classic "Spank Spank"), and "Razor 2.0" is a clear nod to Inner City's "Good Life".

Toomy Disco presents Ultimate Man

We wrote about Argentinian producer Toomy Disco over two years ago for the debut release of Space Walker recordings. We're great fans of him and his disco and house productions. Lately he's been even more productive than usual with great filter-disco house tracks like this:

Toomy Disco - What Goes Around (Original Mix) by Toomy Disco

He's also started producing under the moniker Ultimate Man, making more of late 80's, early 90's Detroit/Chicago/NYC sounds. You know, the sounds everyone loves at the moment. And I don't mean that sarcastically; not everyone can be a fan of acid house and garage since '87. And that's what a lot of the Ultimate Man stuff sounds like. Check these out:

Rituel

Meet Rituel, a new duo consisiting of Christophe Monier (aka The Micronauts) and Thomas Regnault (aka Dew Town Mayor). Ritual is a new project making a kind of deep house, 90s nu disco trip combined with some flavours of rave and garage. It was love right away!

This mini-EP with two tracks has been on for repeat since I got it in my hands. I can guess that these two are up to something really good. Can't wait to hear more from them!

Sad but beautiful Wonder

Daroc hit us up with a new piece of fine sounds. This one is a bit more sad than usual but it's also a beautiful piece of wonder. The track is taken from Daroc's upcoming album "Additional Wonders" released on Metrophon in only a few days, May 7 to be more precise.

Keep the lights on or off

Joyce is the name of the 21 year young singer making beautiful pop music such as "Keep The Lights On". Doom Disco is the act that has remixed the track and also renamed it to "Keep The Lights Off". Nice piece of work!

Of course, here is the original too.
