Bufi's new EP "Salvaje" came out yesterday on the Discotexas label. Our buddies on Discotexas keep on releasing great stuff and now the time has come to the Mexican magic producer Bufi.
Bufi has been spoiling us the last couple of years with great dance tunes and his new EP isn't any exception. All three included tracks are future dance floor tunes, where I especially dig the head track "Salvaje", that's one bouncy and deep tune.
Hear out Xinobi's take on Justin Faust's "Space Rhumba". Nice summer vibes when a Portuguese is playing with a German. This track is included on the "Discotexas Picnic II" compilation and you can check it out over at Beatport.
Our dear friend Xinobi has this new one "Puma" out on Discotexas. Another sweet deep house tune from the Portuguese master. As much as we love him as much must he love me, due to the homage of the name of the track: "Puma". Cheers Xinobi!

As you know we're huge fans of both Justin Faust and Discotexas. Justin celebrated getting OVER 9000 followers on Soundcloud this week (try tweeting "over 9000"). If you're not one of them, you should be ashamed. The new track, "La Fête", features an obscure sample from an early 70's song by Michel Fugain. According to the legend, the sample came to Justin when happening to hear it on the radio in a cab on the way to Lyon airport from a gig, and blown away asked the cabbie what it was. After thinking about it for 20 minutes straight, the driver finally remembered what it was. Now that's what I call a cool story bro. I'm sure Justin was drunk and a pain in the ass for the cabbie who had to have dispatch google it for him. Seeing he was on his way from the gig and all.
Anyway, "La Fête" is decidedly more intense than Justin's usual productions, which is a development I really like. And, according to Justin, so is the next one.

Our Polish friends of Kamp! are to release their new single "Melt" on Discotexas February 15, including remixes by Midnight Magic, Xinobi and Zimmer. Kamp! have recently released their debut album on their own Brennnessel label. We actually got us a copy a while ago before it was released and we have been loving the album since then. "Melt" is one of my favourite tracks from the album, so it's nice to see it as a single along with a nicely filmed video directed by Tomek Goldbaum-Wlazinski. Swim along with Kamp!
Our all time fave Xinobi is back with a new super good single in "(I Hate The Sound of) Guitars". Released on our all time fave label Discotexas. Buy it over at Beatport or order your own limited and numbered edition of 200 copies in white vinyl with a silkscreened image on the B side. Could be something to have in your record collection.
Latest from fave label Discotexas is the remix release of Zimmer. The original release was out and about in last half of 2011. Zimmer is the young producer that makes music that get you in the right mood, always. He's mixing all genres from the latest decades and makes it into his own style.
This remix release is of course his music as the base but it's even more the six well-known acts that flavours Zimmer's music with their own spices. The six remixes spans from nu disco into house. It's really hard to pick a fave but Xinobi's and Mercury's remixes are powerful 90's house tunes. Also Broke One's remix slips into that style with pride. And Moullinex always deliver some great stuff.
Douze is a 24 year-old French producer who was discovered by French touch maestro Kris Menace. After several collaborations from the pair, including "Scaler" and several other tracks on Menace's "Idiosyncracies" album, Douze has also worked with Alan Braxe and been re-edited by Swedish House Mafioso Steve Angello. His debut solo EP, "Les Paradis Artificiels", was released last year on Discotexas, and last Friday he released his second solo EP with the Portuguese label. "Eternity's Call Back" features two dreamy nu disco originals plus remixes from Blende, Publicist (free download!) and Rhayader. We throw in the great Freak You remix too for good measure. Today is also the release of the latest Discotexas release, Mirror People's "Feel the Need", that we previewed last week. Mirror People is Rui Maia from Porto, who has already released disco gems on labels like Permanent Vacation, Brilliantine, Raw Cutz, Solardisco and Social Disco Club's Hands of Time. The new tune features Rowetta on vocals and is a great disco groove. It's backed by a host of great remixes from Moullinex, Munk, Social Disco Club and Severino.
We wrote about Justin Faust's "Girl Talk" EP released on Discotexas back in July. Now the title track has been remixed by up and coming Leipzig producer PWNDTIAC, and Herr Faust is kind enough to give it away for free!

Of Sound, but they are not any newcomers on the market. Martin K had his project Koshowko and John has an international background as DJ and producer. During the last years they've been working close with different labels and artists, and now it's time for them to do this new interesting project, Philosophy
Of Sound. You can always rely on Australia and you can of course always trust Discotexas.

Last Friday Justin Faust released his new EP "Girl Talk" on Discotexas. Bad timing, since we're amidst the summer holidays. Or at least I've been. Then again, Jonny would probably argue that I've been on vacation since around February. On the upside I had the opportunity to meet up with Justin in Munich where we talked about the EP (and of course how much we're looking forward to the new Jersey Shore season). Not surprisingly he was very happy with the EP; both his originals and the remixes. It seems we, him and the Discotexas people aren't the only ones since it went straight up to top 5 on Beatport's Indie Dance/Nu Disco chart. Well deserved!
To me, G.L.O.V.E.S' remix narrowly edges out Bit Funk's and Herr Styler's strong remixes as my favourite of the bunch. Great to hear some new stuff from one of the true great Australian acts. Let's hope he pulls a Bag Raiders very soon. If he does we'll try to convince him to end his World tour in Stockholm, oh let's say next spring?
Of all the great music we should write about but end up not writing about (since we really need to hire some interns), Discotexas' last release with Lazydisco needs a mention. Lazydisco made that awesome remix of Toro y Moi last winter remember? The EP contains more of that smooth and funky lazydisco, plus some great remixes.
After this little round-up we are happy to spread the news that our Polish darlings Kamp! will release their next single on Discotexas. That's something to look forward to!
