Jacuzzihidive oh yeah!

Got a mail this morning from Las Vegas based Jacuzzihidive with their remix of French Horn Rebellion's great funky track "This Moment". Jacuzzihidive makes it even funkier! Really nice remix that got me to check these guys out even more. After a while spent at their Soundcloud, I must say that Jacuzzihidive are a really great new discovery. We start off with the French Horn Rebellion remix.

French Horn Rebellion - This Moment (Jacuzzihidive Remix)

Aily Iglesias and Aram Blassingame started making music together already back in 2007 and they've kind of hit it hard without hitting it hard in the blogosphere, strange to me, considering that they've played along with acts like Klaxons, Miami Horror, The Twelves, Xinobi and many other great ones. When playing live they bring on two other friends, Cameron Isham and Kyler Hutchings, making them a four-piece that want to reclaim live music back to the dance floor.

Beside the remix above they've made a bunch of other great ones, where I've gathered a few of them here. I never thought I would post anything about "We No Speak Americano" but Jacuzzihidive create something new to this monster-hit.

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - We No Speak Americano (Jacuzzihidive Remix)

Kavinsky - Nightcall (Jacuzzihidive Remix)

Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours feat. Irfane (Jacuzzihidive Remix)

M.I.A. - Steppin Up (Jacuzzihidive Remix)

B. Rich - Make Me Dance feat. Reese (Jacuzzihidive Remix)

Ok, and then to what Jacuzzihidive do with their own tunes, a funky house pop thing. Like above remixes but with an even more disco-funk revival with guitar and synth arrangements. Now December 28 they will release their debut EP "Night Creatures" with seven well-crafted groovy electro-disco pop tunes. Pre-listen to slight fantastic "Night Creatures" here below. "Let's Groove" isn't included on the release but it's yet a groovy track.

Jen Bloom

Sometimes it really pays off to swift through some of the unread mails we've received. Take this mail from monstr for example. We wrote about them last summer, and one of their remixes was from LA-based singer Jen Bloom. Now Dan and Steve have branched out to start a record label, and their first signing is Jen Bloom.

That's a great first act because not only has Ms Bloom an amazing voice, she's also a great songwriter, as evidenced by her new single "All I'm Dreaming Of" which was hand-picked and got some polishing production by monstr. You can hear the demo version along with another demo on her Soundcloud. Jen is apparently also a very productive songwriter since the guys have revealed that the former New Yorker have a lot more songs up her sleeve.

The "All I'm Dreaming Of" single also comes with two great remixes from two great acts; Australian producer Dcup and the other from Artwork from Robbie Williams' home town of Stoke-on-Trent.

Who is Universe?

No-one knows who Universe is. It's all a big mystery. All we know is that we got a Miami Horror remix from this mystery Sydney producer a little while ago and two more remixes today. The first one is from fellow Australian Dcup, who we've been keeping tabs on for some time and who's building a lot of hype both with his own tracks and his originals. The second one is of a certain French singer-song writer called Sébastien Tellier, who was the best contestant of the Eurovision Song Contest since Herreys a couple of years ago.

Check out these exquisitely produced lo-fi nu disco remixes, and keep your eyes out for some excellent originals coming out soon. In the meantime, nose around the MySpace page and see what you can find out. Get back to us if you find out anything.

Hot hot hot!

I know it's like swearing in church, but it's so darn hot here in Stockholm right now. You sweat like Zinedine Zidane if you try to move an inch and your brain seems to be slowly turning into fudge. Here are some fresh tracks I listen to to cool me down, but they don't seem to do the trick. I guess they're too hot.

See, can't even bother to write a few coherent lines...

First up, Danish indie band WhoMadeWho remixed by British Balearic/nu disco duo Reverso 68:

WhoMadeWho - Keep Me In My Plane (Reverso 68 Remix)

Messieurs Yuksek and Brodinski turns Peaches's "Lose You" into an uptempo but beautiful techno track that manages to be intense and mellow at the same. <3

Any summer feelings should be augmented by this up-lifting remix by Dcup of fellow Aussies teenagersintokyo.

teenagersintokyo - Death Rides A Horse (Dcup remix)

Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg in Miike Snow shows that saving Britney Spear's career by producing "Toxic" was no fluke. Or is their American colleague Andrew Wyatt the one behind ravey electro house hits like these?
