Jonny Puma's best of 2010

A year has passed and it's time again for us to compile the lists of what great music that spiced up our lives back in 2010. Once again a tough one, where we are forced to leave out so many awesome tracks. Last year I had to leave out some fine acts, that are on the list this year. But enough pre-talk, let me present the Jonny Puma's best of 2010!

#25. Electrotech Disco - A View From Above (Undog Remix)
I'll finish off my list with Brazilian Undog's remix of Electrotech Disco. When I first came across Undog they were a duo but now it's only Bevi who runs it. This remix put the Elektrana stage on fire this summer, it's vibrant, different, heavy, melodic and so much more.

Electrotech Disco - A View From Above (Undog Remix)

#24. Crystal Castles feat. Robert Smith - Not In LoveCrystal Castles released one of the best albums this year with "Crystal Castles II". "Not In Love" was featured but not with classic The Cure's frontman Robert Smith on vocals. This is pure good, I'm in love!

Crystal Castles feat. Robert Smith - Not In Love

#23. Hey Champ - Cold Dust Girl (Gemini Club Remix)
This remix is so odd and amazing. Gemini Club take on Hey Champ's classic "Cold Dust Girl". And how they do it! 8 minute long with a high-energy breakdown. It explodes at 4.39! Don't miss this one!

Hey Champ - Cold Dust Girl (Gemini Club Remix)

#22. Chromeo - Night by Night (Kill Them With Colour Remix)
Amazing Chromeo came back this year with a really fine album and the first single from it was "Night by Night". It came like zillions different remixes of this track, many of them good but the one that made most impression on me was this one by kind of unknown Kill Them With Colour. The sampled banjo from Sufjan Stevens is quite amazing.

Chromeo - Night by Night (Kill Them With Colour Remix)

#21. Home Video - Every Love That Ever Was (Bachelors Of Science Remix)
Brooklyn duo Home Video made a great album this year. And "Every Love That Ever Was" was one of the best songs on it. Bachelors Of Science makes it even better.

Home Video - Every Love That Ever Was (Bachelors Of Science Remix)

#20. Detachments - The Flowers that Fell (Mirror People 're-make re-model' version)This version of Detachments' track by Mirror People is superb. Mirror People is Portugese producer Rui Maia's new project and I totally loves his flirt with Kraftwerk's classic "Das Model".

Detachments - The Flowers that Fell (Mirror People 're-make re-model' version)

#19. Adrian Lux - Teenage Crime
Swedish Adrian Lux hit it off really huge with this lovely tune in 2010. Already a classic I would say.

Adrian Lux - Teenage Crime

#18. The Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) (Tommie Sunshine's Quaalude Edit)
Longest title on this list and also the remixer with the longest hair. Great Arcade Fire track and a perfect remix by Tommie Sunshine that takes this track up to 120 bpm level.

The Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) (Tommie Sunshine's Quaalude Edit)

#17. James Yuill - On Your Own
James Yuill is a mastermind in making really good pop tunes. With his album "Movement In A Storm" he pushed his boundaries even further when putting in much more electronics than before. And therefore he's made one of the better albums this year, where this fine one is included.

James Yuill - On Your Own

#16. Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know (Nighty Max Remix)Spaniard Nighty Max takes this fantastic indie track right into the club's dancefloor. Intense and effective it's sets the dancefloor on fire.

Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know (Nighty Max Remix)

#15. Bag Raiders - Way Back Home
Bag Raiders, as several else on this list released a great album during 2010, for them it was their debut album. "Way Back Home" is the loveliest track on the release.

Bag Raiders - Way Back Home

#14. Yeasayer - O.N.E. (Studio Brussels Remix)
This is one of two tracks including Yeasayer on the list this year. I don't know how much I've listened to their fantastic album this year and I don't know how much I've listened to this superfantastic remix by Studio Brussels.

Yeasayer - O.N.E. (Studio Brussels Remix)

#13. Electric Youth - Right Back To You [Demo Mix]A track that makes you happy. This couple have been together since middle school and they are the perfect match. Bronwyn's beautiful voice together with Austin's happy sounds make you not able to stand still. Electric Youth for you!

Electric Youth - Right Back To You [Demo Mix]

#12. Digitalism - Blitz (Moonlight Matters Remix)
I said in the post in mid-December that this track go right into my Best of list, and so it did. This discoish remix of Digitalism is amazing. Moonlight Matters is Seba, one half of the former duo Villa, he's now on his own, and this man is going to hit it hard in 2011. Go Seba!

Digitalism - Blitz (Moonlight Matters Remix)

#11. Young Empires - Rain of Gold
A band that we're happy to be one of the first to ever write about during 2010. They're on their way right to the stars, 2011 is going to be the year of Young Empires. Catchy post-punk disco is their recipe. "Rain of Gold" is pure magic.

Young Empires - Rain of Gold

#10. Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love (Short Club Remix)A song hard not to fall in love with, maybe a cosmic love then. Wonderful Florence and the Machine track that with this wonderful remix makes me want to love the whole cosmos.

Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love (Short Club Remix)

#9. Crookers feat. Yelle - Cooler Couleur (Junkie XL Remix Jesse's Bootleg Edit 2)A trio of great acts, Crookers + Yelle + Junkie XL. And with this bootleg remix "Cooler Couleur" grows even further. Every time I play this on the dancefloor, it gets people dancing.

Crookers feat. Yelle - Cooler Couleur (Junkie XL Remix Jesse's Bootleg Edit 2)

#8. Gypsy & the Cat - Time to Wander (Joan of Arc Remix)Included on the Kitsuné Maison Compilation 9 with this track it is a receipt on making awesome music. Along with that the young Aussie duo of Gypsy & the Cat released their lovely debut album "Gilgamesh". Love these guys!

Gypsy & the Cat - Time to Wander (Joan of Arc Remix)

#7. Grum - Through the Night (Album Version)
Grum is one of Tracasseur's faves and earlier this year he released this awesome track along with a fantastic video of the thing about bromance. We got this bromance feeling with Grum.

Grum - Through the Night (Album Version)

#6. Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours (Aeroplane Remix)This track from Breakbot is quite something, one of the best tracks this year and when Aeroplane remixes it gets more than quite something. One of Aeroplane's last tracks together as a duo, but they finished in style.

Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours (Aeroplane Remix)

#5. Robyn - Indestructible (A-Trak Radio Edit)
2010 has been Robyn's year. She's about to take over America, she has released three mini-albums and on top of that she hits my best of list. During this year she had a lot of great tracks where several could have made it into the list, but this A-Trak remix is totally No 1 from her.

Robyn - Indestructible (A-Trak Radio Edit)

#4. The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition (RAC Mix)This one, ohh, this one is phenomenal. You know when two things becomes one? This is like the original was made to get into the hands of RAC. And after the hands of RAC it became this phenomenal, of course not without the magic touch of The Temper Trap and the fine voice of Dougy Mandagi.

The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition (RAC Mix)

#3. NightWaves - Fascination (Keenhouse Remix)
80s flavoured tune with perfect synth harmonies. And together with a superb melody and lovely beat comes the fine chorus "...when I was alone with you...". Nightwaves + Keenhouse = LOVE

NightWaves - Fascination (Keenhouse Remix)

#2. Yeasayer - Madder Red (Henning Fürst Remix)The second Yeasayer track on this year's list, well deserved. This one goes out to all you lovers out there, it's time for the final dance. One half of The Tough Alliance, Henning Fürst has made "Madder Red" into a 80s ballad, and it's so damn good, it's close to perfection. A big remix this year!

Yeasayer - Madder Red (Henning Fürst Remix)

#1. Justin Faust - Sloppy Chic (Bestrack Remix)
This year's No 1 is from our German friend Justin Faust, who made this lovely release "Sloppy Chic" 2010. When Bestrack took care of it via his amazing beats it concluded in this banger! It has been my kind of lead theme when I walk the streets with my headphones and it makes the dancefloor act like crazy.
