Mercury + Kings of the Universe

A track that has been on high rotation is Stockholm-based duo Kings of the Universe's excellent remix of Mercury's "Let's celebrate". The duo with the humble name have been purveyors of great old-school house for a couple of years now, so a post about them have been on the cards for some time. Great lo-fi productions with that almost naïvely positive vibe makes you think of Chicago 1988 instead of Stockholm 2013. Obviously Byron Stingily's familiar crooning adds to that retro feeling in this instance, but you should also check out their older ventures into classic acid house.

The original is deeper, and what it lacks in vitamins you get back in carbs. Swiss house mafiosos Mercury are of course well-known for their releases on Gomma, but they have released on Exploited before this release on classic New York house label Nurvous.

Bonus #1: KOTU's free remix of fellow Swedish producer House of Wallenberg.

Download here.

Bonus #2: Mercury's remix of Two Door Cinema Club's "Sleep Alone" is a great song that is available for free too, if you don't mind the small hassle with Chirpy. Which you don't since it's a small kickback to the boys for giving away free music.

Gigamesh remixes Two Door Cinema Club

Kind of disappointed with the latest Two Door Cinema Club album "Beacon", I expected so much. But now I'm a bit happier after Gigamesh remix of "Sun". Thanks Gigamesh!

Here you can pre-order the "Sun (Remixes) EP" with more remixes from Fred Falke, Gildas and Alex Metric.

Two Door Cinema Club + Young Empires

Young Empires just finished supporting Chromeo on their latest tour. Apart from being pretty huge, that sounds like a whole lot of fun. Here's a remix we found on the internets that they've done of Two Door Cinema Club that also is a whole lot of fun.

Some late evening tracks with Ted & Francis

Very long time we wrote about this great Australian duo Ted & Francis, even if we almost got every track that they have made in our music player. But now it's time for Ted & Francis again. With two new great remixes of two of our most loved bands; The C90s and Two Door Cinema Club, it's Ted & Francis evening. Enjoy!

Two Door Cinema Club + Cryptonites

Two Door Cinema Club seem to have had a great year. Their name have been popping up everywhere, and I have liked what I've heard, regardless if it's been originals or remixes. After all, it's generally a sign of quality when you find yourself liking tunes of the same band being remixed by different remixers.

This is the latest remix, made by (edit) Swiss disco house kings; Cryptonites (sorry for calling you Spanish guys).

Case in point about good remixes of TDCC is French Horn Rebellion's excellent tune from last spring.

Two Door Cinema Club + The Twelves

We've written about Kitsuné Maison 9 compilation before, and it's still our most played album of the spring. Well, I shouldn't write spring since the winter is due to make an unlikely (and most unwelcome) comeback this weekend in Stockholm. Man, we have seen more white stuff this year than in an average Miami Vice episode...

Anyway, we're going to listen to The Twelves' summery disco remix of Two Door Cinema Club and try to believe that the summer eventually will come.
