Virgin Ears premiere

We're proud to announce our new club concept Virgin Ears – The Intimate Disco Club together with Dogs from Redding and Blek (Samlingen).

The premiere night is this Friday and we got a feeling it's going to be sweaty. The club will take place in the intimate basement of Blå Skåpet. It's going to be personal and intense downstairs with a little help from our lasers in the dark and of course the great pumping music. Here is a teaser for the premiere night with a remix of Kraftwerk.:



As mentioned Tracasseur are launching this new club together with our fine friends Dogs from Redding and Blek. They are responsible for the great disco club Glasnost in Uppsala, where we been flipping records several times with foreign celebrities such as Serge Santiago, diskJokke, Disco Bloodbath and Ben Rymer. Next time In Flagranti will be the main act. A lot of fine Swedes have also been visiting Glasnost for amazing live- and dj-sets, except ourselves great acts such as Jackpot, DW, Neon Workout and Hampus Drake.

Discodeine is a french duo born in Paris 2007 from the sick minds of Pentile and Pilooski. You probably heard lots of remixes by Piloooski by now. This track has supercool beats to start the evening with.

#12. Cosmic Boogie - Heads (Cosmic Boogie Edit)

Cosmic Boogie started as a music blog about music. Based in Liverpool but with hooks into other parts of north west UK, it has now grown into much more than originally intended. An edit label, a DJ / production alias for Stu Robinson and a banner to learn all about the different shapes of disco, funk, soul and electro. The best remix I've heard so far of this Talking Heads classic.

#11. LCD Soundsystem - 45:33 (Padded Cell Remix)

Don't think LCD Soundsystem needs more information but maybe you don't that much about Padded Cell aka Richard Sen and Neil Higgins. Having won notoriety as a Bronx Dog (Heavenly) and a Dirty Beatnik (Wall of Sound) respectively, Padded Cell came about in 2003. This is the best version and great use of the vocals.

Perhaps a little slow and reminds me sometimes of Enigma from the 90's, but I can't resist this lovely remix by Borat. Sorry, I meant Bogdan.

This dark bass and blippy keys on that vocal does the work for me.

Oh Serge, Serge! Actually Serge Santiago is not a Frenchman but an English bloke, but he uses his own name. This remix is pretty close to the original but so much more up-tempo. And of course I don't mind Justice's version called "Phantom" either.

Flashmob...

...is the name of French Vitalic's excellent new album that was released two months ago. Flashmob means that a large group of people assembles suddenly in a public place, performs an unusual action for a brief time and then quickly disperse.

You probably remember Spike Jonze's brilliant video "Praise You" for Fatboy Slim. Below is a Swedish Michael Jackson dance tribute shot this summer shortly after he died.
