Twelve is the number!

I guess its time to write about my favourite Brazilians: The Twelves. Joao Miguel and Luciano Oliveira from Rio de Janeiro formed the group back in 2006. The name came from the strange coincidence of their birth dates: twelve of July of 1980. The breakthrough came when they remixed "Boys" by M.I.A. I've never had the opportunity to see them live but their shows are a unique blend of live keyboards, drum machines, mash-ups and remixing on the fly. A key element for the duo is trying to improvise as much as possible.

Here are some of my favourite remixes by these great Brazilians. And if you don't like them i say in portuguese: Cala boca! And if you want their remix of La Roux "In for the Kill" just go here.

Aeroplane

Aeroplane is a Belgium based Dj/Producer duo consisting of Stephen Fasano and Vito Deluca. Their music is a mix of psychedelic guitars, pop keys, melancholic waves, disco beats and catchy basslines. They released their first 12" in 2007, "Caramellas/Aeroplane", on Eskimo Recordings.
They immediately got positive reactions from the biggest DJ's and producers around because of their fresh and different sound.

Due to the success of their 12"'s, they've been asked to do a lot of remixes in 2007 & 2008 , for artist like Cobra Dukes, Das Pop, Lindström, Cut Copy, Grace Jones, MGMT, Bloc Party, Friendly Fires, etc…

Aeroplane will go into the studio in February /March of 2009 to record there already anticipated album.

This is our vacuum mix #1. Pretty much all they have done since august 2007.
