Tracasseur's best of 2012 on Spotify

We started a new tradition last year by collecting our Top 100 tracks from the year that had passed. We will of course continue this mission this year too, and the next, and the next... As everybody know, not all songs are on Spotify, for example from smaller producers and special remixes. Oliver announces new January single on Kitsuné

The very awesome duo Oliver will have some muscles behind them for their next release when Kitsuné release "Dirty Talk" on January 16. It's a great dance track somewhere between disco and house, similar to their remix of Sneaky Sound System's "Big". Which means it's more towards 80s electro/disco pop than lo-fi deep disco. Add to that great remixes from Black Van and Punks Jump Up, plus the slow, but oh so good, "Walk With Me" as a B-side. If you've been following Oliver for a while you might have heard it or already have it even. In that case you'll know how good it is.

Unfortunately we don't have any promo tools yet, so you'll have to take my words as to the awesomeness of the single. But to keep you in good mood we can you another great Oliver dance track, that really is worth a single of its own.

Housse de Racket + Oliver + Robotaki

Weird, I was certain we had written about Housse de Racket's awesome, and now almost two months old single "Roman". You know that we haven't always been the fastest blog, and lately we have been using the Heinz Ketchup strategy when blogging, but are we now also turning demented? Well, that doesn't bode well.

Anyway, Housse de Racket had the album "Alesia" released on Kitsuné in late August with the single "Roman" coming out less than a week after that. The original is great, as I said, and so are the remixes by Oliver and Robotaki that now are available for free.

I've been raving a lot about Fiero, who I think have approached the whole retro 80s sound with a twist by borrowing more from mid-80s American R&B than early 80s italo synths. That means more funk and more electric guitar solos, and that's always fresh, right?

Another band that I put up there as the stars of Quincy Jones electro is Oliver, a duo comprised of Oliver "Oligee" Goldstein and Vaughn "U-Tern" Oliver. I've been listening to and playing both their awesome remixes and their even more awesome originals for quite a while, the favourite being the slow but ultra cool "Walk With Me".

The latest track they've made is "I Need You", which they will give away for free when it hit 20.000 plays, so put it on repeat people!
