Finally a new track from Pony Pony Run Run

A while ago we heard something new from the Frenchmen of Pony Pony Run Run, but now we got something to cuttle with. They will release a new album February 27 and with this new track "Just a Song" I'm looking forward for that release with big expectations. This one is really nice one!

Neo Tokyo remix of Pony Pony Run Run

Latest remix from fine Welshman Neo Tokyo. Always top grade when making the remixes. This time it's of the French nowadays trio Pony Pony Run Run, who released the single "Walking On A Line" earlier this year. The band members of Pony Pony Run Run are named with only one letter to make it easy, the trio are G, A and T.

Two other great remixes of this track are Fabian's and Ren Riz'. Grab them here!

Binary Day

Today is Binary Day since it's the date 101010. What can be more appropriate than to check in with our friends over at Binary Entertainment? The Californian collective had a very productive summer, which sadly coincided with Tracasseur practically being down to one person (sorry about that Jonny!), so we need to do some backtracking.

LexiconDon's second single "Student Body" was the second single from the album "Pink + Blue", and it came with a gazillion of great remixes, of which we already have posted two. Here are some more along with the original:

LexiconDon - Student Body

LexiconDon - Student Body (LBCK Miniremix)

LexiconDon - Student Body (depepeguinta Remix)

LexiconDon - Student Body (Tomahawk Remix)

(Pick up "Pink + Blue" on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody or 7Digital)

A quarter of LexiconDon is producer Fabian, who makes a lot of great things on his own.

Fabian - Heatwave

Fabian - 2 AM

Fred Falke - Back to Stay (Fabian Remix)

Dragonette - Easy (Fabian Remix)

Pony Pony Run Run - Walking On A Line (Fabian Remix)

Phoenix - 1901 (Fabian Remix)

Keenhouse remixed the earlier LexiconDon track "December Sunset" instead. Plus NightWaves and Housse De Racket.

LexiconDon - December Sunset (Keenhouse Remix)

Housse De Racket - Oh Yeah! (Keenhouse Remix)

NightWaves - Fascination (Keenhouse Remix)

I'll finish off this Binary compilation with producer Alfa, who released a new track and remixes of Vim Cortez and ODahl this autumn.

Alfa - Sky Patrol

ODahl - Dance Mama (ALFA Remix) by Alfa

Vim Cortez - Givin' it up (ALFA Remix) by Alfa

Finally, if you're anywhere near the American west coast on October 15, you really should go to Tilt Magazine's three year anniversary bonanza at the Echoplex, with acts like Jamaica, NightWaves, French Horn Rebellion, Short Circuit, Parallels and more. Buy your tickets in advance for only twelve bucks here (15 at the door).

Pony Pony Run Run + Lifelike

Epic stuff coming via our friends over at French Express today; Lifelike's remix of Pony Pony Run Run's new single "Walking on a Line". It's great, but I'll keep this pretty short because you'll want to head over there to grab the extended remix. First though, check out the video of the original and Lifelike's radio mix. And if this makes you inspired, enter the "Walking on a Line" remix contest over at MXP4; the winner will secure a spot on the B side of the digital release, plus other goodies. But hurry, the deadline is April 26!

Fortune

Paris band Fortune is releasing both an EP entitled "Gimme" and an album, "Staring at the Ice Melt", on March 23. The quartet are comprised of musicians with backgrounds from several other bands like The Yolks, The Big Knife, Abstrackt Keal Agram, Y Front and Rodolphe Burger's Meteor Band.

Labeled post-punk you can hear traces from the usual new wave and synthpop bands. But the guys also cite influences from 60s pop rock bands like The Zombies and The Troggs of Love via disco and Michael Jackson to modern bands like Granddaddy, Dopplereffekt, Lo-Fi-Fnk and Vampire Weekend.

Fortune - Gimme (Blackjoy Edit)

Fortune - Mission (M83 Remix)

Fortune - In the Shadow (Tepr Remix)

Phoenix - 1901 (Fortune Remix)

Pony Pony Run Run - Hey You! (Fortune Remix)

Axe Riverboy - Carry On (Fortune Remix)

Rubin Steiner - Another Record Story (Fortune Remix)

MTMT - I Am The Sound (Fortune Remix)

Gremly

Since it's Saturday night you might want to get down to some intense, energetic French style filter house? Until a few days ago I hadn't heard of Gremly, which in a way is pretty strange because a) he makes that sort of The Phantom's Revenge-style house that always strike a chord with me and b) he has made the equivalent of three albums last year.

Here are what I think are the highlights from his solid discography. My favourites are the a-Ha sample in "Blue Sky" and the familiar sample in "I Can Make You Happy", which I can't quite place. With the risk of making an ass of myself, I think it sounds like Earth Wind & Fire, but maybe one of our knowledgeable readers can shed some light.

EDIT: Grimly has confirmed that the sample is indeed from EW&F; the 1981 single "And Love Goes On" to be precise. Apparently all it took to throw me off was to leave out the chorus... Perhaps I'm not a big ass but maybe a Shetland pony or something.

Anyway, head over to Gremly's Bandcamp page and download the rest of the goodies for free!

Gremly - I Can Make You Happy

Gremly - Blue Sky

Gremly - Do You Remember

Gremly - Holiday Trip

Asia Cruise - Selfish (Gremly Remix)

Beat Crusaders - There She Goes (Gremly Remix)

Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes (Gremly Remix)

Pony Pony Run Run - Hey You (Gremly Remix)

Samantha Fox - I Surrender (Gremly Remix)
