If you live or are on holiday in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo or Bergen the closest days, you are lucky! Because the great English group Metronomy is paying a visit to these fine cities. Their live shows are quite spectacular. For example they uses push lights stuck to their chests. This is what the founder of Metronomy, also known as the friendliest man in pop, Joseph Mount said in an interview:
"We did our first gig in Brighton and a few days before I saw these lights in a pound shop and I thought ‘we’ll whack these on our T-shirts and do some synchronized light shows!’ I’m totally aware that some people hate it but equally I think some people enjoy it just for the fact that it's a bit of fun."
They are besides the good live shows, diligent with remixes. They have made a bunch of them, among others CSS, Lykke Li, Kate Nash, Franz Ferdinand and Zero 7. But in July 2008 their great single “Heartbreaker” became the most played song across all blogs around the world when Kris Menace remixed them instead.
Here is the video for that original song:
These are the dates when they perform live the nearest days in Scandinavia:
– March 4th at 8 PM at "Debaser Slussen" in Stockholm, Sweden
– March 5th at 8 PM at "Rust" in Copenhagen, Denmark
– March 6th at 8 PM at "Hulen" in Bergen, Norway
– March 7th at 8 PM at "Blaa" in Oslo, Norway
And finally some nice tunes. Now you can’t say that you don’t know about this band, no excuses not to go see them…and if you still got excuses, you can watch them perform three songs on “Popcirkus” on Swedish Television on Wednesday, March 4th at 7.30 PM.
