Daroc's new EP + exclusive free mp3

It was way too long along we wrote about Daroc. The talented Frenchman with a passion for the 70s and 80s movie sounds, and of course he's also gazing towards master Moroder. And Daroc is one of the producers that makes it so good. His music is well crafted and it has all these layers of details and harmonies. There are a lot of producers out there that want to make music as good as Moroder did and few succeeds, Daroc is one of the exceptions, because he does it so truly but yet also into his own style, the Daroc sound!

Now he's back with a new EP named "Destination" that consists of four original tracks and three remixes, where we got one to give away to you guys exclusively! This EP was released already back in February on a new French label named Metrophon. But for now, sit back and float into the sound landscape of Daroc...

MMMatthias: Phonat remix and "Best of 2010" mixtape

MMMatthias just sent over his remix of Phonat's new single "Ghetto Burnin'", and it's mmmarvellous! At the same time we got his latest mixtape that he says is effectively a "Best of 2010" disco mix, and we can't disagree with his picks. It's a live mix though, so there might be a couple of tracks that wasn't made this year. Don't feel aggrieved if you find an old track; instead marvel at your extraordinary music knowledge!

Pick up the whole "Ghetto Burnin'" release at Beatport and 'like' MMMatthias on Facebook!

MMMusic from MMMatthias

MMMatthias is back with some new stuff. He's been busy for a while with a lot of studio work with new original tracks and remixes. One thing to come in spring 2011 is his "Everest" EP on Autodidakt's Mähtrasher Records.

We'll start of with his new mixtape "ROAR", which include some EP teasers. As MMMatthias says himself about the mix: "...sounding like a bear crawling out of it's cave after hibernation, giving you a hungry ROAR!"

This new MMMatthias remix of different Berlin duo I'm Not A Band, who combine their alternative electro with violins, is a real beauty. I'm Not A Band will release their EP "Crazy" November 26 on ADP Records. It will contain remixes from Rampue, Jumping Jack Flash, Tonspender, Alle Farben and this one then.

As a bonus MMMatthias handed over this remix that Belgian producer X-ettl has made. It's a banger!

Clancy & Build collaboration

Those of you who are here at Tracasseur on regularly basis are familiar with both Build and Clancy. For you who doesn't come here regularly, it's time you should. Otherwise you can miss out on such good acts like Build and Clancy. To get a catch-up on them, read and listen to our older posts about Build and Clancy.

Build is the English bloke who have grown up most part in Australia. Nowadays he's based in the east parts of London. He's doing that eclectic 80s indie-electro-synth thing and has done superb remixes of Phoenix, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Delphic to mention a few.

Clancy has also made remixes of Delphic and he's also from the UK. He's a producer, DJ, musician, promoter and are flipping records at numerous London East End raves and thriving basement parties in Shoreditch and Dalston.

Having spent the last year or so working on their own indie-electro-synth productions and having admired each other’s work from-a-far, Clancy and Build have come together to produce some perfect 80s inspired synth bombs.

They're actually working on a number of remixes and this is the first one out of hyped Yeasayer. The track "O.N.E." is the strongest one according to me from their album "Odd Blood" released earlier this year. Their remix of "O.N.E." combines arp and live bass with classic analogue synth stabs bringing everything together.

And of course there is a bonus today also, here's the original with two other remixes that also are quite nice.

Kavinsky is back

One of my heroes within the electronic music with vibes from the 80s is back. Kavinsky aka The Zombie, with the car and with the 80s, is back with a new EP named "Nightcall" with two new tracks "Nightcall" and "Pacific Coast Highway".

And I can do nothing more than say; it sounds like Kavinsky and for that I'm happy. But still, this time he has actually developed further when using CSS lead-singer Lovefoxxx on "Nightcall". Excellent choice using female vocals and excellent choice of female singer.

Great remixers like Breakbot and MMMatthias are doing their nu-disco versions of Kavinsky. MMMatthias is by the way heading of to Australia soon for the Oz tour with Trashbags, April 9–19, with confirmed gigs in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

The "Nightcall" EP is set to be released March 15 of Record Makers and there is also a rumour about a full-length album coming out soon. Awesome!

For about one year ago I made a post about Kavinsky and his greatness. One of my absolute favourite tracks back then, and still are, was "1986". So as a bonus track, here is "1986" for you.

Modeselektor + Apparat = Moderat

Yep, these two great acts made it together. Moderat is the collaboration between Sascha Ring, also known as Apparat, and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, also known as Modeselektor. They released their first self-titled full-length album this spring on BPitch Control but they started Moderat as early as 2002 when they released an EP named "Auf Kosten der Gesundheit". After that they have worked on their own projects Apparat and Modeselektor but now they found the time to unleash Moderat. We should be glad for that, because it's awesome.

Check out this beautiful video for the my favourite song "Rusty Nails".
