Sunday Girl cover of classic Pixies track

And this cover has been huge in the UK lately because of the use of it in a holiday commercial for Thomson Holidays. It's such a beautiful track with the fantastic voice of Sunday Girl. Since such a phenomenal response to the advert and the track, Island Records have decided to make it available to buy on iTunes as well. Here's the official video:

The original track by Pixies was a huge hit and specially memorable due to the use of it in the ending scene of Fight Club.

We finish off with the SoundCloud link and the actual commercial broadcasted right now in the UK. Want to go for a holiday? I definitely want to together with Sunday Girl...

Exclusive Sunday Girl remix

Sunday Girl has been a Tracasseur favourite since we first heard her cover of Laura Branigan's "Self Control". Sunday Girl aka Jade Williams got her name from when she worked in a pet store every Sunday back in the days. Nowadays she has her own fashion brand, writes music for big artists such as Kylie and Deadmau5 and are also about to release her debut album early 2012. Sunday Girl is a big girl now.

Recently she also got a Hype Machine #1 hit with the RAC remix of her single "Love U More" and tonight we got a Tracasseur exclusive for you with the ASA Mix of that track. Thanks to Polydor and LaDigit.

More of Young Empires

The next big thing are about to hit it off for sure. Young Empires from Toronto, who we were one of the first blogs to write about are about to tour in the UK. The Brits should be very happy, because this band got this funky sound that make you move your feet. This is the schedule for the UK tour:

July 27 – Madame JoJo's / White Heat, London
July 29 – Start The Bus, Bristol
July 30 – Koko / Club NME, London
July 31 – Audio / The Recommender, Brighton
August 1 – The Captain's Rest, Glasgow
August 3 – The Flowerpot, London

To celebrate their arrival to the UK they have made a fine remix of British Sunday Girl's "Self Control", a track we wrote about not long ago. Young Empires remix are more mellow than Fenech-Soler's remix and it also suits the track. You can sense the sound that are characteristic for Young Empires. Nice remix!

They also got a new track/demo out named "Against the Wall". Ohh it's so good, the perfect track that will get you going this summer.

I also wanted to share an older track that we haven't posted before with you guys so you really can get to know Young Empires. Don't forget to show your love to these three fine gentlemen from Toronto at their MySpace.

Self Control with Sunday Girl and Fenech-Soler

Laura Branigan covered Self Control from Raf who originally made it. Sunday Girl makes a fabulous cover of Branigan's version and Fenech-Soler makes a superb remix of Sunday Girl's version. Complicated? Not really, and to make everything clear for you, we got them all here for you.

Fenech-Soler has always been favourites of Tracasseur and with this remix they once again show their skills. Give it up for the four-piece band from the U.K and check out their album "Stop and Stare".

Sunday Girl is also from the U.K. but she's only a one-man show. Only 21 years old born as Jade Williams. The stage name Sunday Girl is from when she was young and worked in a pet store every Sunday. All customers used to call her "Sunday Girl". This Sunday Girl you should keep your eyes on seven days of the week in the future.

Raf's version got a nice rap as bonus versus the other versions about 4.45 into the track. Don't miss out on that one.
