Cavaliers of Fun

As me being away to a little town of Sweden with no internet. A small small town where internet haven't found it's way yet. No, internet is of course there, but I have been busy taking care of my family and making porridge to Santa...

But now I'm back and I've got a fine but late Christmas gift to you. It's Cavaliers of Fun, who I found through our new friends down in Australia; Not Cool Yet (check out their blog, it's great). Cavaliers of Fun is a one-man show from the UK named Ricco Vitali. He's on a music trip in outer space, as he writes on his MySpace: "Imagine a one man space odyssey to discover new worlds, new beats, new sounds..."

I think this guy haven't got that love that he deserves yet in the blogosphere, so give it to him, because it's really really good! Dreamy retro synths with a great space production as equals as Deluce, Worship and Pelifics. Also check out his fine remixes, where the one together with Portuguese Anagramme on Dragonette's "Fixin To Thrill" is a pearl.

Cavaliers of Fun - Secret Galaxies

Cavaliers of Fun - 2012

Dragonette - Fixin To Thrill (Cavaliers of Fun and Anagramme Remix)

The Teenagers - Feeling Better (Cavaliers of Fun Remix)

NightWaves - Fascination (Cavaliers of Fun Remix)

GFR002

It was a while ago our friends over at Girlfriend Records released their first EP. Today they released their second, and even if I think three months are too long to have to wait for the third, I know it will be worth it since Girlfriend really show that good things come to those who wait. The second artist to be released is none other than the Pope of French electro; Avignon-based Illapa.

Remixes on the B-side of the four track EP is by Frédéric Lorian and Trac fave Pelifics. Head over to Girfriend's blog to pick up the full release. I know you'll want the Illapa track I've left out of this post...

Illapa - Zenith (TV Version)

Illapa - Louise (Frédéric Lorian Remix)

Illapa - Louise (Pelifics Remix)

Johnathan Live

Ever since Johnathan Live sent us these uptempo synth and electropop-oozing tracks in early December I've been listening a lot to them. I don't know much about him since Mr Live seems to be a pretty secretive guy. Since his MySpace account states he's from London but his Virb account says he's from Santa Cruz, Tenerife, I wrote and asked him where he's from exactly and for some additional info. The only thing he shared with us is that he lives in London and that he's putting on a monthly night in Notting Hill. I guess he wants to let his music do the talking, so I'll just shut up. But if you're in London on January 15, you could help us by doing some stalking for us (check out this flyer).

If you came here from Hype Machine or Elbows, chances are you came for the Chromeo or the Everything But The Girl remix, but the true gems are the ones of Cato Canari and The Similou, two bands I'd never heard of.

Chromeo - Momma's Boy (Johnathan Live Remix)

Everything But The Girl - Driving (Johnathan Live Remix)

Cato Canari - Dirty Work (Johnathan Live Remix)

The Similou - Clouds (Johnathan Live Remix)

Sir Lancelot's Christmas 7" Edition

Hohoho! It's Christmas time and hope you know it (yes I've heard that Band Aid song too many times) so I thought giving you some songs from my 7" vinyl collection. Some of them are cheesy, some of them are Hi-NRG disco and I'm pretty sure you don't have them on your computer...well at least not all of them. My favourite one is German "Laser" by Laser from 1979.

So, no more talking let's get down to business and Merry Christmas!

Merry Xmas everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone! This is the first Christmas we celebrate together, we'll remember it forever!

Here's a present from all of us to all of you (well, Pelifics had a small part in this too).

Pelifics - Xmas Song (Something Special)
