GFR004 - HR "Memory Chord"

Last Monday we posted an exclusive track named "Misery" from this EP by Norwegian italo queen HR, today it's time for the full release. "Memory Chord" is released by our friends over at Girlfriend Records, and they always make their releases free to the people.

This EP has been longed and now it's here. HR shows us to make beautiful nu italo with that right mix of the old and the new. This girl is classy! I know that she can handle the synth, I've seen her in action. Just take a listen to "Sandra"...

The EP also includes a remix by our old Swedish friend Neon Workout. He's into that kind of same music style but yet in another direction then HR. Enough said, here's "Memory Chord" EP by HR.

Exclusive track from HR's "Memory Chord" EP

In less than a week the longed EP of our beloved Norwegian italo queen HR is about to be released on one of our favourite labels Girlfriend Records, that hold acts like Pelifics, Neon Workout, Illapa, Le Prix and HR then of course.

On Saturday, September 18 "Memory Chord" is released to the masses. It will hold four original tracks and one remix by Neon Workout. But until Saturday will come, we got this exclusive track "Misery" that will be included on the EP for you to take a listen to. HR makes this wonderful nu italo with hints from the 80s but also from times like today. With "Misery" she shows you what I mean.

GFR003 - Le Prix

The third release for our friends at the 80s italo label Girlfriend Records is now out. This time it's actually one of our closest friends in the nu italo business; Le Prix. He has once again created a well flavoured italo sound that seems like taken from a 80s road trip along the coast of the western US.

Girlfriend Record's head of chief, great Sferro himself, has made the remix to the B-side. He told us that he wasn't that satisfied because making it in only one night, due to the release today. But I have to disagree with him totally, because I think it's a superb remix.

Then you just have to give all your love to Le Prix and of course to Girlfriend Records, who always give away their releases for free. And because it's free, it's not bad, it's instead awesome nu italo delivered to you. Be grateful!

GFR002

It was a while ago our friends over at Girlfriend Records released their first EP. Today they released their second, and even if I think three months are too long to have to wait for the third, I know it will be worth it since Girlfriend really show that good things come to those who wait. The second artist to be released is none other than the Pope of French electro; Avignon-based Illapa.

Remixes on the B-side of the four track EP is by Frédéric Lorian and Trac fave Pelifics. Head over to Girfriend's blog to pick up the full release. I know you'll want the Illapa track I've left out of this post...

GFR001

We've already written about the American nu italo label/blog/producer collective Girlfriend Records with artists like Sferro, Pelifics, HR, Awkoder'89, Illapa, The Sweeps and our buddies Neon Workout and Le Prix. One track that never was included in the previous post is the first release on the label by the head honcho himself, Mr Eric Sferro. Since then I assume he has noted with vengeful eyes that it has taken us forever to post it. Sorry Eric!
