Yuksek

Parisian Yuksek, aka Pierre-Alexandre Busson, is one of the front runners of the new wave of French electro. He has been releasing dance music for a few years now - his sound is heavy on the synths, electro-techno beats, stop and start breakdowns, and seems to be just as influenced by hip-hop as he is by Detroit techno. Yuksek has releases on Rise Records, Hypnotek, I'm A Cliché and Relish Records - all of which are run by amazing producers.

Since 2005 he has played many gigs in France (Nouveau Casino, ParisParis, Panik, Point Ephémère, etc.) and abroad (MEG festival in Montreal). Alone on stage with his machines and a microphone, he goes back to the origins with his no-nonsense old school sound.

Yuksek's other project is called Klanguage - their myspace page says "a girl, two guys, some old-fashioned keyboards, few drum-machines, 2 guitars, a bass."
On thursday he plays at Debaser, Stockholm. Buy tickets here.
Check out his myspace here.
Here are some of my favourite songs and remixes by him:

Yuksek - Dat's Right

Yuksek - Extraball (Pilooski Remix)

Tommy Sparks - I'm A Rope (Yuksek Remix)

Yuksek - Tonight (Album Version)

Bot'Ox - Rue de l'Aresnal (Yuksek Remix)

Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (Yuksek Edit)

White Lies - Farewell To The Fairground (Yuksek Remix)
