Brott och Straff (in English: Crime and Punishment) are a Swedish duo from the western parts of Sweden doing electro with lyrics in Swedish. Their plan is to release a new track every month during 2013. This month they wanted us to hand it to the world as an exclusive for the fans of Tracasseur. Brott och Straff describe their music as hard electro with pop melodies and honest lyrics, and I would say that's the perfect description.

Exclusive: Stay Ali - Oh Tom
One of our favourite Swedish acts are Stay Ali. What's cool with them is that they are extremely talented for one thing, but also that they can't, and don't want to, be pinned down to a specific genre. This new track is an example of that. According to Bård, it's a step back towards their origins, which I guess means a step away from the electro of the Ep "Vat:Auhlau", which we wrote about here. The new track is part of an upcoming, but at this point unsigned, Ep that will be "happier" and "more naïve" than the last. I know there are a lot of label people reading us, and you guys should drop a mail to these guys.
For more Stay Ali, read our cool interview with the guys here, and keeping an eye on their Soundcloud and Facebook is probably a good idea. And if you're in Milan in April they're playing on the 20.

Tracasseur exclusive: Amateur
Here's an exciting new project from Jeroen of Blokgolf, Krause, Sumera and Melomanics. The name is Amateur (that name will set off the spam filters, right?). The début single is called "Virgo Intacto", and the digital release comes with remix support from RipTidE, Ike Ratio and Cosmic Force, while the two originals will also be released on a 7'' vinyl in Dutch record stores (I'll be checking at Rush Hour on Spuistraat next time I'm in Amsterdam).
The RipTidE remix is obviously there to draw some extra attention to the release, and while it's nice (just as the other remixes are), I prefer the two originals and their old-school electro/acid house vibes, and I even think the B-side slightly edges out the title track. It makes me want to dig up my old Adonis and Dopplereffekt vinyls.
"Virgo Intacto" is out March 17 on Little Globe.

Tracasseur Exclusive: New EP from Keenhouse
On March 5 (Beatport) and March 13 (worldwide) LA producer Keenhouse will be back with a new EP on Sunlinxx Records entitled "Better Days". Apparently the days have been so good so Mr Keenhouse has included not one, but two tracks called "Better Days", with the obvious goal to double the goodness. And good they, indeed, are. I really, really like how he has transformed his sound from a softer more dreamwave sound, to a deeper garage sound. Don't get me wrong, I liked him before, but I think I like this even better. Apart from the two "Better Days" tracks there will be two more originals, called "Skyscrapers" and "Release Me".
Here's "Better Days (1)":

And here is the, in my opinion, better "Better Days" that we are happy to be able to give away exclusively as a free download!

Fan Keenhouse on Facebook for being so nice!
