This is good. I always love to hear new music that doesn't sound like most of all other music. Different, but with clear influences. You can hear the darker synth are inspired of the likes of Depeche Mode, Kate Bush should be another influence but also some oriental stuff mixed up with the 80s guitars.
Widower are from London, they are a male/female duo consisting of Banks who was in Haunts before and singer Chloe Little. Widower themselves says to be inspired by a time when the underground became overground and haute couture and low life kissed in dark basements all over the country, spawning a golden age for pop.
Their first single will be coming out in October on Another Music Another Kitchen/Pure Groove. Until then take a good listen to fantastic "Exposure" and their 80s guitar remix of Paloma Faith. Nice work by Widowed, we look forward to hear more from this funky bunch.
